Shameless plug

Hey everybody - I've begun another blog on my "corporate" site. Primarily health, wellness and research-related stuff, and I'll do my best to keep it regularly refreshed. If you have any questions or subjects you'd like me to write about, do let me know.

Podcasts

Oh. dear. I think I've found a new obsession. (Thanks a LOT, David and Steph.) I have a fairly straightforward job sitting in fromt of the computer working on digital images, so they keep my brain from being numb by the end of the day. It really works! Besides the CoffeeGeek one, this Christian guy does Reformcast, and has (like many podcasters) a blog to accompany it. PLEASE check it out and give him some feedback - it's so cool.

Wonka Watchers?

David, Steph....anyone....anyone at all....

How was Willy Wonka? I got your message a little too late, 'cause I was busy getting beat by my bro in cribbage. How is compared to the original? Can it be compared to the original. Don't give TOO much away, 'cause I DO want to see it...

Wow, What an incredible film. It had everything. Story, plot, special effects, actors, actresses, supporting roles, direction and some producers. The only thing missing was Will Ferrell.

(Roger) Wilco

There was some confusion last night as David, Steph, Karl, and Abbey sat discussing Modern Rock, which Wilco albums actually were COOL. Or, RAD. Or, GNARLY.

I'm pretty sure that the gnarliest Wilco album is "Being There." Check it out.

This just in: Jesus Christ in legal battle for driver's license

The man at the center of the debate, as usual, is Jesus Christ. This news story reads like a Charles Williams/Chesterton/Buechner novel with all the bizzareness and not much of the subtlety. Enjoy.

P.S. And yes, David, this is one of those "MSN" stories that I just "clicked" on.

More 1930s lounge vibes

I'm hitting with Garden Wall Serenaders again:

May 5 at the Varsity Theater

If anyone has ideas about how to evoke 1920-40s, i.e, lighting candles onstage/setting up a Victrolla, let me know.
